Announcing German Talent Program for LMIC scholars
Sciii is a non-profit organization under German law based in Berlin/Germany. Its mission is to foster science and innovation integrity research and education in science and technology publishing and policy. We collaborate with partners at different academic organizations in Germany of the Otto-v.-Guericke University of Magdeburg (Medical School & Dept. Computer Science), the Berlin University Alliance, Quest Center for Responsible Research (Berlin Institute of Health) at Charité – Humboldt University, and in Sweden at Uppsala University and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Stockholm).
To foster integrity of science and innovation, fellows will join (or are already at) a German host institution. They will attend funded workshops and conferences to increase their skills and to help raise awareness of how credibility and integrity are the core of progress in science, innovation and technology of our modern societies. Fellows will actively contribute to integrity research, policy and/or the development of scientific integrity monitoring systems. And they will gain insights into the latest advancements in their respective fields with opportunities for networking with leading peers and experts nationally and internationally.
The award for outstanding PhD-students, postdocs or visiting scholars from Low and Middle Income Countries (LMIC) comprises 1-2 year stipends of 1.000 – 3.000 EUR/month (depending on qualification). Candidates apply either from their home country or are already in Germany (the award can be used to supplement existing funding).

Eligibility Criteria
- Citizen of Low & Middle Income Country (LMIC, including China)
- PhD students/ post-docs/ visiting scholars (junior faculty)
- Excellent academic background
- Willingness to start working in Germany within 12 months following the award at a German university or research center (PhD Program, visiting scholar, etc.)
- English language proficient certificate (ETS/TOEFL or British Council-IELTS)
- Willingness to participate in compulsory events and activities of the Sciii-award program (travel expenses will be covered).
