Why Sciii?
The name Sciii stands for Science & Innovation Integrity, reflecting our core mission: to promote transparency, ethical standards, and trust across all fields of academia, science, technology, and education. Our domain sciii-it.org is intentionally designed to sound like the sound of “see it”. It is a call to action – an invitation to recognize and confront the challenges of scientific misconduct and misinformation. This dual meaning of our name captures both our purpose and our approach: to make integrity visible, to expose what has long been overlooked or (intentionally) ignored, and to take concrete steps toward a more responsible scientific ecosystem.
Our story
Sciii was founded by Prof. Sabel as a direct response to the growing and alarming issue of systemic corruption and fake in academic publishing. It is the rise of a global “fake mafia” producing fraudulent research which has cast a shadow over the credibility of scientific work, with far-reaching consequences for our modern societies. We expose unethical practices, scout for fake-publications, identify corrupt networks, and advocate a more transparent and accountable research environment. The book “Fake-Mafia in der Wissenschaft” (German) describes this largest science scam of all time – industry-style production of fake-publications. Through rigorous research, education, and public engagement, Sciii aims to research, develop and implement concrete solutions to help restore trust in science, so science remains a reliable and ethical source of knowledge for our modern, science and technology-driven societies.

Prof. Dr. Ph.D. Bernhard A. Sabel is psychologist and brain scientist. He has held positions and visiting professorships at leading institutions including MIT, Harvard, Princeton, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 1992 until September 2023, he led the Institute of Medical Psychology at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. He is currently a clinical advisor at Savir-Center, a vision rehabilitation service provider in Magdeburg. (Foto: Sarah Kossmann)
Our future
In line with our commitment to raising awareness and fostering integrity in science and innovation, we will organize conferences and workshops, training programs and fund stipends to foreign visiting scientists. These activities are designed to promote critical reflection, ethical practices, and responsible communication. And they will provide structured opportunities for dialogue, capacity building, and interdisciplinary exchange, addressing pressing challenges such as scientific misconduct, misinformation, and quality standards in research dissemination. Through these initiatives, we aim to further our mission by translating our principles into concrete action and cultivating a culture of transparency and accountability within the academic, scientific and innovation community.
