Our mission for Science Integrity
Science and Innovation Integrity are key for our health and economic development. At Sciii, we aim to raise awareness of science publishing fraud and develop practical solutions to address it. We are dedicated to help strengthening integrity and trust in science, innovation, and education by enhancing quality standards in scholarly publishing, patent systems, and public communication. We are a non-profit organization under German law (§52 AO) and committed to combating misinformation through research, education, and public engagement. Our mission is to establish effective safeguards against fake, fabricated and misleading content—particularly in high-impact fields such as health, technology, environment, and security—and to share our findings with the public in a transparent and accessible manner.
Book: “Fake Mafia in der Wissenschaft”
In his latest book Fake Mafia in der Wissenschaft, Prof. Bernhard A. Sabel provides a compelling insider perspective on the global problem of fake science. Drawing on years of empirical research and personal experience as a journal editor, the book exposes the mechanisms behind fraudulent publishing networks—so-called “paper mills”—and the devastating consequences for science, medicine, and public trust.
Stockholm 2024 Lecture
The Stockholm Lecture on Science Integrity 2024 marked a milestone in the international dialogue on research ethics and transparency.
In his keynote, Prof. Sabel presented new data on the scale of the global fake-publishing crisis and proposed strategies for systemic reform.
